Bonjour à tous,

Comme beaucoup d’entre vous le savent déjà, le 28 novembre 2007 sera pour moi le début d’une expédition en Antarctique ayant pour but la construction d’une toute nouvelle station Polaire, unique en son genre.

Mon retour devrait s’effectuer le 17 février, après, on l’espère, une mission réussie.

Vu les difficultés que j’aurai sur place pour communiquer avec le reste du monde j’ai décidé de créer ce blog afin que tout proche (et moins proche) ait l’opportunité de s’informer sur ce qui se passe dans ma petite vie.

Je demanderais à tous de bien vouloir NE PLUS M’ENVOYER DES MAILS jusqu’à mon retour et ce à partir du 28/11/2007. D’abord car je ne pourrai pas les lire et ensuite parce que je ne voudrais pas que ma boîte mail explose.
Par contre, toute impression, question, sentiment, doute et autre sont chaleureusement accueillis sur mon blog. Dans la mesure du possible, j’y répondrai dans un article.

Ce qui suit risque d’en décevoir plus d’un; tout le blog (à part cet article) sera entièrement et uniquement en Anglais. J’ai la chance d’avoir de la famille et des amis un peu partout dans le monde et je n’aurai simplement pas le temps de chaque fois tout traduire en trois langues. Je me ferai le plus simple, concis, compréhensible et clair possible, c’est promis !

Ce blog devrait reprendre des articles de ma composition, photos et autres images en rapport avec l’expédition. Il sera toujours en expansion au fur et à mesure du déroulement de l’expédition.

Hello everyone,

As many of you must know by now, on the 28th of November I shall be leaving for Antarctica as part of an expedition with a very special purpose; building a new and rather unusual scientific station.
I should mostprobably be back on the 17^th of February, after a successful (at least we hope so) mission.

Once there, I should have very little opportunities to communicate with the rest of the world. Therefore I have decided to create this blog, in order to keep everyone close (and less close) to me as well informed as possible.

I would like to ask everyone NOT TO WRITE ME E-MAILS ANYMORE from the 28th of November until the 17^th of February. Firstly because I simply won’t be able to read them and secondly because I don’t really want my mailbox to explode. On the other side, all the impressions, questions, feelings, doubts what so ever that you would like to share are warmly welcome on the blog. If I have the opportunity, I shall do my best indeed to answer those questions in the articles!

This blog will be only in English, if you are reading this part of the article you shouldn’t then be in any kind of trouble! I’m very lucky to have relatives and friends all over the world and I just don’t have time enough to translate everything. So English it is.

This blogwill thus contain pictures; articles of my making, other images related to the expedition and of course your precious remarks!

Halo allemaal,

Als bijna iedereen weet, op 28 November zal ik een tocht naar Antarctica beginnen als deelnemer van een zeer bijzondere expeditie die voor doelpunt heeft een nieuwe station te bouwen.

Ik zal waarschijnlijk op de 17^de van februari terugkomen, na een succesvol (dat hoop iedereen in ieder geval) missie.

Daar zal ik heel weinig met de rest van de wereld kunnen communiceren. Daarom heb ik beslist een blog te creëren, zo dat iedereen van mijn omgeving (en zelfs vreemdelingen) kan op de hoogte zijn van wat allemaal gebeurt in mijn leven tijdens die drie maanden.

I wil vragen tegen iedereen dat jullie STOPPEN MET E-MAIL STUREN (naar mijn adressen). Dat is voor twee reden: eerste reden is dat ik zal ze gewoon niet kunnen lezen en tweede reden is dat ik wil niet graag dat mijn mailbox “ontploft”…

In tegendeel, alle opmerkingen, gevoelens, vragen, twijfels en weet ik nog wat zijn van harte welkom op deze blog. Als het mogelijk is, ik zal proberen een antwoord te geven in de artikelen.

Deze Blog zal alleen in het Engels zijn. Ik heb vrienden en familie overal in de wereld, en ik zal gewoon geen tijd genoeg hebben om alles in drie verschillende tallen vertalen. Ik zal mijn best doen om alles zo duidelijk en makkelijk te schrijven.

Er zullen dus foto’s zijn, zelfgemaakt artikelen en andere foto’s in verband met de expeditie en ook, zeker, jullie opmerkingen!
